consolation software package provides linux console pointer support for copy-paste, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install consolation
consolation is installed in your system.
Make ensure the consolation package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep consolation *
You will get with consolation package name, version, architecture and description in a table
